My loyalty to Banta remained until the end. On December 18, 2009, Banta closed its doors due to a labor dispute with the union. So, that left me with a decision to make. In the end, my decision was to start A to Z Tile.
The name A to Z Tile comes from my background experience. I didn’t just install backsplashes, floors, showers, tub surrounds, fireplace surrounds, walls, wainscoting, porches and pool decks.
Over the years, I learned specialized tasks:
- Removal of antique tile that had to be cleaned, saved and reapplied
- Strip old sealant, clean and apply new sealant to restore appearance
- Apply grout colorant to discolored grout joints to restore appearance
- Trouble shoot problems with tile to do repairs that can include removal and replacement of underlayment
I’ve worked in homes, schools and other commercial jobs. The homes have dated from the 1800s to new builds. Commercially, I’ve worked in churches, schools, office complexes, restaurants, stores and nursing homes. Probably, the most unique was working in the Pennsylvania Capitol Building installing some of the Moravian tile.
With each job, there are always different challenges to face. I approach each the same way; I want you, the customer to be totally satisfied when I finish. My policy is to do it right the first time. My goal is that you are so happy that you will give us your repeat business and referrals.
A to Z Tile, everything from A to Z having to do with tile.
Kathleen's Bio: I have been working in the Central PA since the mid 80’s. I’m a computer system application developer by trade. I love the creativity, design and working with the customers. I’m the support behind the scenes.
A to Z is small enough to provide you with the personal touch.
